MATH:
We are doing lots of practice with multiplication facts and fact families. The students are learning about the Turn-around-Rule (Commutative Property) and lots of ways to solve multiplication problems. They are practicing with games and using MULTIPLICATION.COM as a great tool to practice their facts. The students are taking tests every other day and are charting their progress with ice cream incentives! They are working towards an ice cream sundae party! Please help your son/daughter study at least 15 minutes nightly with their facts. They are learning about the relationship of multiplication to repeated addition and division to repeated subtraction. We are also learning how to make multiplication arrays. The students are skip counting and finding many patterns in their multiplication facts. Continue to watch for Homelinks to come home in the homework folder. A study packet will be coming home in the next week or so to work on these skills before CH 4 test.
