READING:We are going to read the story "Dragon in the Rocks". We are working on vocabulary, discussing steps in a process, comprehension, using context clues, and talking about historical fiction.Keep reading nightly and record on the Reading Calendar to be turned in on Monday in the Red Folders. WRITING:
We continue to work on writing Weekend Reports every Monday and Squiggles every Wednesday. We are focusing on writing a complete sentence with a capital letter, a complete thought, and an endmark. We are also learning to use graphic organizers to help with our prewrites. With every sentence we write, we try to think of one good detail sentence to add to our stories. The kids LOVE winning Squiggle Puppy...We look for GREAT details, CORRECT capitalization and punctuation, and a great story! :)
SPELLING:

MATH:We continue to work on measurement. We just finished our perimeter books! We are skipping around a little in the Math Journal so don't be alarmed to see some unused pages! We are supplementing some measurement to cover all state standards! We will be working with some line plots this week along with area and making a dream house using different measurents with area!
SOCIAL STUDIES:
We continue to learn about our national and local government and are currently working on a special flag project. We are going to write about what our symbols mean on our flag just like our country's flag has symbols that represent certain things. I will let you know when our unit test will be given when it gets closer.
HANDWRITING:
